Free Museum Day

Six downtown St. Petersburg museums and attractions are open free to all Pinellas and Hillsborough residents. The Dali Museum, Florida Holocaust Museum, Great Explorations Childrens Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of History and Sunken Gardens are all open for free, in addition to galleries offering gift store discounts at the Florida Craftsmen Gallery and the Arts Center. During the day, drop in to the Progress Energy Center for the Arts' Mahaffey Theater for a discounted Florida Orchestra concert (price TBA).  727-551-3250.

 

 

 

Pier Aquarium's Kids' Fishing Tournament

The Pier, 800 2nd Ave. N.E. 8:30 a.m. to noon. Kids 12 and under learn to fish. Trophies and ribbons awarded. $1. www.pieraquarium.org or 727-895-7437.

 

 

Civil War Days

9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Free
Civil War Days featuring the 25th Annual Heritage Village Skirmish: See what life in Florida was like in the 1860s for pioneers and soldiers! Free admission. Free parking and
shuttle to event entrance located on 119th St. between Ulmerton and Walsingham Roads.
