Cinderella Stardust PartyGirls of all ages dream of being a princess for a day. This party will bring out the magic in all of them. Invitation Cut out a slipper, cover with glitter, and add: "Join us for a magical event. Put on your smile and special slippers and join us at the ball."
You can suggest that girls dress up for the party, offer a trunk of fancy dresses and accessories (visit local second-hand stores) or hire someone to bring a selection of dresses that can be rented for the day. Decorations Glitter, glitz, and sparkle are a must for this gala. Gold and silver curling ribbon can be hung around the room and glitter sprinkled on the table for a truly magical feel. Doilies, fancy lace-like napkins, and gold plates help set the stage. Games and Activities To begin on a fancy note, have Dad or a son dress up and announce each guest as they arrive. Next, make sure every Princess is dressed for the part. Have each girl create her very own Tiara. Pre-cut the Tiaras out of silver card stock paper. It’s not that difficult; cut a few points at the high front and taper it down to a narrower back. Then offer lots of glue, glitter, sequins, and gold gel pens to add the finishing touches.
When it’s time for some games, try:
Search for the Lost Slipper Have each guest take off their shoes. Put the shoes in the middle of the room. Everyone goes to the center and puts on two different shoes. The objective is to be the first one to get your own shoes back. Guests go from player to player looking for their shoes. When a player finds one of their shoes, the other player must give it to them and take the one from them that isn't theirs. The first player wearing his own shoes is the winner.
Reaching the Rhinestone Fill a large bowl with rice and add 15 to 20 rhinestones. Each girl gets 30 seconds to find as many rhinestones as possible while blindfolded (use a fancy scarf or night eye cover). The winner is the one who gets the most rhinestones. But you can make them all winners by setting out a selection of rhinestones (plastic beads) and elastic jewelry string so each girl can make their own necklace.
Musical Throne Decorate one chair with fancy ribbons and designate it as the throne. Play this game like musical chairs except remove chairs other than the throne every time you go another round. The winner is the child who finishes in the throne.
Pin the Crown on the Prince Draw a picture of a Prince (a silhuette is fine) and cut out several different colored crowns (one for each guest). Blindfold the beauties and let them try to crown the prince. Food If a castle cake seems like an impossible task, decorate a plain cake with lots of jewels (gum drops, and gold and silver edible candy balls) and diamonds (rock candy). Accompany this specialty with royal punch - any regular beverage is immediately fancy when served in (plastic) wine goblets. Favors From sparkling jewelry to shining lip gloss – anything that adds to the beauty of your lovely guests will impress! Resources for this Theme: Oriental Trading Company, Inc.
