Fire Truck PartyAll the local mini-firefighters will come running to this Fire Truck Birthday Party. Invitations A fire truck template can be used to for invitations. On the back list all of the details of the party. Preprinted Fire Truck Birthday Party invitations are adorable and can be easily ordered on line. Decorations A
replica of a real fire truck out of a refrigerator box will allow a place
for the guests to play pretend. Put
the box on it's side and cut out the shape of the truck. Cut out the
front and side windows and paint the whole box red. Paint a ladder on each side in black, glue on tin pie plates
for the headlights and a yellow badge sign depicting Fire Truck No. 4
(or whatever age your child is). Also,
a yellow light for the top with yellow cardboard bent to look like a
siren will make it look real. Inside, add a steering wheel out of Styrofoam. Take a picture of each child with a firefighter's hat on
inside the truck to take home. Red balloons and streamers will complete the firefighter décor.
Food What else to serve at a fire truck birthday party but hot dogs! Then let the little fire chiefs decorate individual bowls of vanilla ice cream with red hots and red M&M's for a sizzling treat.
Games & Activities Arrange for a tour of your local fire station or see if a firefighter can come to your house. Local departments are usually willing to give tours and at the same time teach fire safety. Be prepared with alternate plans in the event that the firefighters get called out on an emergency. Firefighter's
rescue challenge – Arrange an obstacle course that the birthday party
“firefighters” have to go through to rescue a stuffed animal.
Have the guests put on a fire hat, slip down a slide, and drive a
play fire truck across the yard to a house, which is burning in pretend
yellow cardboard flames. After picking up a length of garden hose and
pretending to douse the fire, contestants run to a rope ladder, rescue a
stuffed animal that is clothes pinned to a tree, and drive the toy fire
truck back to the start to receive a prize. Pin the hat on the firefighter - before the party, draw a firefighter on poster board and hang it on the wall. Use red construction paper to cut out a fire hat for each child. Write each child’s name or initials on the hat and put a strip of double-sided tape on the back. Blindfold the first child, gently spin them around, and direct them toward the fire fighter. The fire hat that ends up closest to the top of the fire fighter’s head, wins! Favors A fire hat filled with a toy firetruck, a firetruck book , miniature firefighter figurine, fireball candy and fire safety coloring book and crayons will make a great goody bag. Don’t forget to include the Polaroid of each child.
