M&M Party
Everyone loves M&M's! Why not have a fantastic birthday party around this colorful theme!
Invitations For the invitations cut M&M shapes our of colored construction paper. Write M&M's on one side and include the details of the party on the back. Request that each guest wear a t-shirt in their favorite M&M color. You can also include a small snack size bag of M&M's in the envelope!
Cut circles out of cardboard, glue colored cardstock to them with a picture of the birthday boy/girl. Use a safety pin to attach a "party badge" to each child as he/she arrives.
Decorations Like the variety of M&M's think about a lot of different colors for this party. .A a red, royal blue or yellow table cloth to cover the table will look great. For the plates, cups and napkins, again use an assortment of different colors for each place setting. Have the birthday child make a centerpiece out of balloons with colors just like you would see inside of a M&M bag. Draw the M&M logo on each. Hang theme colored streamers. Cut colored construction paper circles, draw the M&M logo on them and have a trail of them leading into your home or taped to the walls.
Games and Activities M&M Bingo You can create your own Bingo game at http://www.bestteachersites.com/web_tools/materials/bingo/ and use M&M's as the markers. Bags of M&M's, glow sticks, are great prizes for the winners!
Pin the M&M's on the Candy Piece. Cut a large circle out of a colored poster board and draw a circle in the middle where the M&M's should be placed. Give each guest an paper M with tape on the back. Close their eyes, spin them around and have them put the M on the candy piece.
Guess the Color A color guessing game is fun with M&M's. Blindfold half of the guests. Have the other half give them one M&M at a time to eat and see if they can guess what color they ate. Now switch the blindfold to the other half of the guests to see if they can determine what color they are eating. Keep a tally of how many correct guesses each guest had.
M&M Jacks A twist on the old classic game of Jacks. Pile M&M's on your playing surface. One at a time have the birthday guests bounce a small rubber ball and pick up as many candies as he/she can and catch the ball before it bounces again. The person who picks up the most candy wins.
Guess how many M&M Another fun game is an estimation jar filled with M&M's. Pre-count how many M&M's fit in a clean container. Have your guests take turns guessing how many M&M's they think are in the jar. The guest who is the closest is the winner of the estimation jar.
Food For the food you must of course have plenty of bowls of different type of M&M's around the party room for the guests to snack on. You can also serve M&M shaped sandwiches. Cut the bread into circles and fill the sandwiches with your child's favorite ingredients. An colorful birthday cake is easy to create using a round cake and placing M&M's all over the white frosting.
Favors A small package of M&M's, a tube of M&M's and M&M stickers will leave the guests happy they came to celebrate with you.
