Construction - I This bright and fun room will bring years of enjoyment to your little construction crew. Walls With a pencil, draw a wavy line horizontally across the middle of your walls. Paint the wall above the line using your favorite color of sky blue paint. Add fluffy white clouds by sponging blue and white paint. Paint the wall below the line green to create the effect of grass. Add mounds of dirt with brown paint and yellow construction vehicles hard at work. You can get some great ideas from your child’s favorite children’s books. Add road signs, one way, do not enter, stop signs, orange cones, etc. as you see fit. Use your imagination! OR Start by painting the walls a sunny yellow color. Use gray, white and yellow paint add a wavy road to the wall, looping it over the bed, above or behind a dresser, etc. The outline of the road will be white, the road itself will be gray and the dotted lines down the center of the road will be yellow. Make it whimsical! Accessories Add a small table in one corner for construction vehicles. This is where your child can play with his favorite toy trucks and cars! Add a hat rack to hold a construction helmet and tool belt on one wall. Make sure you place it low enough for your little one to reach. Place orange construction cones, construction signs, and a stop sign in the corners of the room. A stop sign rug on the floor will complete this picture! Bedding A road work appliqué quilt will look great with this theme. Add some pillows shaped like construction trucks or stop and go lights. Windows The window treatments should match the bedding in this room. Find a tailored valance in a bright color(s) to match the theme. In General Your little construction worker will love the bright colors of this theme for years to come. Don't be afraid of the bright paints - you can always paint over it if it is too much for your style.
