Back to Kids Rooms Themes and Ideas
All American / PatrioticThere
are many ways to create an All American room.
This theme is easily accomplished and creates a bright and
patriotic domain!
WallsRed, white and blue are the colors for this theme. There are almost endless possibilities of what you can do with these colors so use your imagination! Here is one idea that keeps it simple: A solid color wall is great for a kids bedroom. Start by painting the walls red. Along the top or middle of the wall, sponge white stars to create a boarder. Voila! You have the backdrop for a perfectly patriotic room! You can easily vary the colors if red is too drastic for your taste. Use a while background with alternating blue and red stars! AccessoriesUse white picture frames to hold colorful pictures of flags, stars, stripes, etc. that your child has drawn for his new bedroom. Cover empty tin cans with patriotic wallpaper to hold pencils and crayons. A blue lampshade will look great on a white lamp in this room. Insert small American flags into pencil holders. Cutout red, white and blue cardboard stars and hang from the ceiling using fishing line. BeddingRed sheets to match the wall color with a blue and white striped comforter will compliment this room nicely. On a white bed skirt, use fabric sponge paint to add different size red and blue stars. Complete the look with a couple of red, white and blue throw pillows in the shapes of stars.
Curtains Start with white curtains or a valance and add fabric paint stars in red and blue or select curtains to match the bedspread. Red, white or blue striped curtains will also work nicely. In GeneralThere are many, many variations to this theme. Sticking with the red, white and blue – how can you go wrong!
